Saudi Space Economy Projected to Reach USD 31.6 Billion by 2035
The sector is expected to grow from USD 8.7 billion in 2024, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 12%.
Saudi Arabia’s space economy is projected to reach USD 31.6 billion by 2035, up from USD 8.7 billion in 2024, according to the latest Digital & Space Sustainability Report.
Published by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission with support from the International Telecommunication Union, the report highlights the growing role of space technologies in both economic development and environmental monitoring.
More than 50% of essential climate variables can be measured from space, with satellite technologies increasingly used for climate monitoring, water management, agriculture, desertification tracking and disaster response.
The projection follows the KSA Space Market Report 2025, which estimated a 12% compound annual growth rate for the Saudi space economy through 2035. The domestic space market itself was valued at USD 1.9 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 5.6 billion by 2035.
The report also outlines broader digital growth across the Kingdom. Internet penetration reached 99.6% in 2025, while fibre-optic coverage extended to more than 3.9 million homes. Women’s participation in the digital sector rose to 35%, compared with 7% in 2018, and the digital economy accounted for 15% of GDP, equivalent to USD 122.4 billion, in 2024.
Business adoption of artificial intelligence also continued to rise, reaching 33.1% in 2025, while the report links further digital and space development to wider sustainability targets under the Saudi Green Initiative.
