Cairo-based artificial intelligence community, People of Data, has partnered with renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass to launch the Egypt Eternal Voices Program & Competition. The initiative connects Hawass’s historical expertise with generative video technology, inviting creators, storytellers and AI enthusiasts to interpret Egypt's history using digital tools.
Participants in the programme will receive hands-on training led by industry professionals and direct mentorship to develop their AI video creation skills, concluding with a competition featuring a $10,000 prize pool.
The collaboration comes as generative AI becomes increasingly integrated into digital media. By pairing verified historical context with machine learning tools, the programme aims to establish new approaches to digital storytelling and cultural heritage preservation.
The technical and organisational backbone of the initiative, People of Data, operates as a hub within the regional technology landscape. Founded and led by Youssef Kamal and by Magdi Moussa, the community has grown to encompass a network of over 4,000 professionals, including machine learning engineers, tech entrepreneurs and business leaders.
The competition comes as part of a widening ecosystem for People of Data who, instead of focusing solely on theoretical applications, establishes practical ecosystems for career acceleration and technical education. The group regularly hosts networking events, workshops, and hackathons designed to translate AI capabilities into functional skills and economic solutions.
