Mastercard Expands AI Payment Platform Agent Pay to UAE
Mastercard has launched its Agent Pay service in the UAE, enabling payments via AI agents through partnerships with Majid Al Futtaim and fintech firm Dataiera.
Mastercard has introduced its AI-powered payment platform, Agent Pay, in the UAE — marking its first rollout beyond the United States. The initial pilot involves collaborations with retail and entertainment major Majid Al Futtaim and fintech company Dataiera.
Through Agent Pay, cardholders can now use an AI agent to discover, compare and complete purchases autonomously — including ticket bookings at cinemas such as VOX.
Underlying the service is a framework that combines AI-driven convenience with compliance and security: the agentic transaction model factors in consent, transparency and network-level safeguards in line with Mastercard’s global standards.
This rollout aligns with broader UAE ambitions to position the country as a regional hub for AI and digital commerce. By integrating AI agents directly into payments infrastructure, Agent Pay aims to simplify everyday transactions and set the stage for a new generation of automated commerce across the region.
