 Diriyah Biennale Foundation’s Workshops Program Comes to JAX District

he Diriyah Biennale Foundation is rolling out a vibrant, week-long program with hands-on sessions designed to spark curiosity, creativity, experimentation, and learning. Expect sketching workshops, photography lessons, and everything in between – all taking place as part of their ‘Public Programs’, with the full schedule available via Biennale Public Programs' link in bio on Instagram.

Highlights include Maryam Khaled’s ‘Embroider Your Archive’ workshop; NaiFactoryLab’s ‘Create Your Own Planet: Biomaterials’ workshop; ‘Cartographies of Fish and Birds’ by Mariam Alnoaimi; the ‘Snap & Tell’ photography course for children; and so much more.

‘Snap & Tell’ Kids’ Photography Workshop

This workshop invites kids aged 5–12 to explore the Biennale through photography and storytelling, while learning the basics of light, framing, and perspective along the way.

‘Cartographies of Fish & Birds’ Workshop With Mariam Alnoaimi

Participants explore movement and seasons through a guided walk that combines birdwatching, simple mapping, storytelling, and light creative writing.

‘See Like An Artist’ Kids’ Photography Workshop

Kid participants’ curiosity, observation, and visual awareness are sparked in this hands-on session, where basic photography concepts are introduced in a playful way and Biennale artworks inspire their creative expression.

‘Embroider Your Archive’ With Maryam Khaled

Participants explore how photography and embroidery come together to tell visual stories, starting with a personal or selected photograph and learning how to translate memory into stitch.

‘Create Your Own Planet’ Science Workshop With NaiFactoryLab

This hands-on kids’ workshop is all about encouraging children to become mini scientists, experimenting with safe biomaterials made from natural ingredients to mix, pour, and mold their own colourful, glowing creations.

Saturday Sketching With Raya Kassisieh

In this masterclass, participants are guided through the exhibition halls, and invited to engage with artworks through drawing, tracing, and shadow-based observation using graphite, charcoal, paint, and collage.
