Beit Al Sharbatly Launches Summer Debate Camp in Jeddah

Beit Al Sharbatly Cultural House in Historic Jeddah is launching a new Debate Camp in collaboration with Wasl and the Saudi Center for Philosophy and Ethics, with the aim of developing debating skills in participants as both an intellectual and ethical practice.

Led by mentors Lafi Al-Mutairi, a translator and researcher in argumentation theory, and Dr. Haifa Al-Osaimi, who holds a PhD in Modern Literature and Literary Criticism, and featuring a roster of renowned speakers from across Saudi's leading academic institutions, the camp consists of training workshops, debate rounds and dialogue sessions inspired by international debate tournaments.

By strengthening critical thinking and articulation, the stated goal of the programme is to develop leaders who can express their ideas clearly, listen to different perspectives and engage in discussions grounded in reasoned argument and mutual respect.
