Al-Rawi Storytelling Award Returns for Its Second Eedition
With nine categories, a total reward of EGP 1.8 million.
For its second edition, Al-Rawi Storytelling Awards, an award series dedicated solely to spotlighting Egypt’s most creatively poignant storytellers, returns bigger and better than before. With nine categories, a total reward of EGP 1.8 million, and 28 jury members including the likes of Yousra, Hesham Nazih and Tarek Nour, this edition of Al-Rawi will leave no stone unturned.
“Our goal is for Al Rawi to become a genuine platform for discovering and empowering young talent,” says founder of Al-Rawi, Narrative Summit and CC Plus, and co-founder of The Global Narrative Lamia Kamel, “So, we’re excited to see the innovative stories young people present this year reflect their identity, ambitions, and view of Egypt.”
The theme is ‘How You See Egypt’ – a question contestants are required to answer across nine categories: digital content (one-minute reel), long-form documentary (five minutes or under), short film (thirty minutes or under), monologue video (two minutes or under), culinary video, scriptwriting (3000 words or under), photography, art and music. Each category winner will be awarded an EGP 200,000 award.
