Twenties Swaps Matcha for Moghat
Twenties is reviving moghat, a golden Egyptian drink tasting like liquid sunshine straight from your teta’s kitchen.
Move over, matcha lattes. Twenties is dusting off their grandmothers' recipe books and serving up moghat, a bright yellow drink that looks like liquid sunshine and tastes like your teta's kitchen decided to open a cafe.
The spot at Promenade Narges Mall has added the traditional Egyptian drink to their menu, bringing a beverage that's been around since pharaonic times into their modern cafe setting. Moghat comes from the roots of Glossostemon bruguieri, which sounds like a Harry Potter spell but is actually a plant that Egyptians have been turning into a thick, sweet beverage for centuries.
