Saudi photographer Rayan Mallah has built his practice around visual documentation and media coverage spanning sports, nature, and industrial sectors - but what drives him is something deeper than technical output. His work zeroes in on candid, unguarded moments, using light and perspective to surface the human and cultural stories that might otherwise go unnoticed.

For this edition of Photo of the Week, Mallah brings that instinct to a quietly powerful image: an elderly man in a wheelchair, cane resting in his hands, absorbed in a book surrounded by rows of literature. Rather than simply documenting a scene, the shot meditates on the relationship between age, knowledge and culture. Mallah describes it as a story of "knowledge spanning generations," one that portrays culture as "an integral part of the human experience" - a reminder that the pursuit of learning knows no physical or generational limits.
