Styled Archives: Yousra's Best Looks From 2014 TV Hit 'Saraya Abdeen'

In the 2014–2015 historical drama Saraya Abdeen, Yousra stepped into one of Ramadan’s most canonical roles to date: Hoshiyar Qadin, the Walida Pasha.

The series first aired on MBC on 29 June 2014, written by Kuwaiti author Heba Meshari Hamada and directed by Amr Arafa, with a second season following in April 2015 under the direction of Shadi Abu Al-Oyoun Al-Soud. Produced by Mahmood Shokri, the ensemble cast included Qusai Khouli, Nour, May Kassab, Ghada Adel and Nelly Karim alongside Yousra — placing her at the centre of a large-scale period production anchored in palace politics.

Her wardrobe reflected that hierarchy. Velvet gowns, jewel-toned silks, structured crowns and sweeping capes reinforced her authority within the Abdeen Palace setting. Pearls, brooches and gold embroidery were deployed with precision, aligning costume with character.

Season 1, Episode 1

Yousra’s debut as Hoshiyar Qadin arrives in a velvet brown gown, rich and deliberate. A scarf drapes through her arms, softening the silhouette without diminishing its authority.

Season 1, Episode 2

An off-the-shoulder gold and black gown sets the tone for the scene. The edges are full and ruffled, almost theatrical, balanced by a crown and classic pearls. A simple clutch in hand keeps the look controlled.

Season 1, Episode 3

Red takes over the room before she does. The gown, finished with yellow-gold detailing, features an attached cape that trails behind her like.

Season 1, Episode 8

Brown and bronze tones meet intricate gold detailing in a gown built on volume with poofy sleeves and a ruffled collar. A small crown brooch sits in her hair, subtle but intentional.

Season 1, Episode 10

A deep purple gown with gold accents marks a shift into full regalia. The jet-black hair is styled with precision, offset by white gold bracelets and a matching necklace that catch the light.
