Iraq to Host the Gulf Cup in 2028

Iraq has been selected to host the 28th Arabian Gulf Cup, with Khaleeji 28 set to take place from December 9th to 22nd, 2028.
The Gulf Football Federation unanimously approved Iraq’s hosting bid on September 28th, with the country the only member association to submit an application.
The tournament will mark Iraq’s third time hosting the Gulf Cup, following Baghdad in 1979 and Basra in 2023, when Iraq lifted the trophy on home soil.
The 2028 edition is expected to feature Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen, while the host city and stadiums are yet to be confirmed.
