Ferrari World's Ladies Run Returns for a Third Lap on August 30th
Ferrari World Yas Island in Abu Dhabi lends its air conditioned indoor track to women runners for the third year running, looping through the park, Yas Mall and the Italian Village on August 30th.
On August 30th, Ferrari World Yas Island hands its track over to several hundred women for its third annual Ladies Run, held for Emirati Women's Day. Nobody needs a racing licence. Trainers will do.
The course loops through the park itself, ducks into Yas Mall while the shops are still shuttered for the night, and comes back out through the Italian Village, entirely indoors and air conditioned, so runners arrive at the finish line sweaty for reasons that have nothing to do with Gulf humidity.
There's a distance for whoever turns up. Newcomers and walkers can do the 2.5km single lap. Anyone who's been quietly training on a treadmill at 11 PM without telling their group chat can go for the 5km. And if you've got something to prove, mostly to yourself, the 10km covers four laps and gives you plenty of time to regret your life choices somewhere around lap three.
Check in from 6 AM. The 10km sets off at 7, the 5km follows three minutes later, and the 2.5km brings up the rear at 7.08 AM. Podiums and applause happen at 8.30, whether or not you're standing on one.
Entry runs from AED 85 for the shortest distance up to AED 105 for the longer two, depending on your date of birth. Sign up can be done through the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi website.
