Cipriani is Opening Its First UAE Beach Club at J1 Beach in 2027
Cipriani Lido, the brand’s first UAE beach club, will open at Dubai’s J1 Beach in 2027, bringing Bellinis, cabanas and Venetian polish to the Arabian Gulf.
Cipriani, the Venetian establishment which has spent a decade being Dubai’s most bottoned-up Italian restaurant, is taking off its shoes. In 2027 Cipriani Lido will be established at J1 Beach – its first beach club in the whole of the UAE, where “Lido” is Italian for “beach”. This project involves Fundamental Hospitality, the local business responsible for Gaia and its beach counterpart Sirene, and falls right when Cipriani’s DIFC dining room celebrates its tenth year of being.
Prepare for Cipriani to Cipriani itself but horizontally. It will feature a signature restaurant, a terrace, private cabanas and sunbeds looking out at the Arabian Gulf, a Living Room based on Socialista, the secret speakeasy which is located behind a private door in the DIFC original location, and a Bellini Bar as well. The bellinis were invented by Cipriani himself – served at Harry’s Bar in Venice in 1931 when it was Giuseppe Cipriani who had opened up this tiny place and made it a National Landmark and hangout of such luminaries as Hemingway and half of old Hollywood.
J1 Beach is a half-a-kilometer strip of beach clubs opposite Burj Al Arab, developed from the old La Mer into Dubai’s answer to the Riviera, complete with golf cart arrivals and sunset posing. Cipriani is not the only name to read the tide as Zuma Beachhouse is scheduled to open somewhere down the line at Port de la Mer in 2027.
