Noel Kharman & Toumba Team Up on Experimental Khaliji Pop Cut ‘Ghamra'
Palestinian artist Noel Kharman and Jordanian producer Toumba blur the boundaries of Khaliji Pop and electronic textures on their latest single 'Ghamra'.
On their latest collaborative single ‘Ghamra’, Palestinian artist Noel Kharman teams up with Jordanian producer Toumba to fuse Khaleeji pop sonics with cutting-edge electronic textures. Following her genre-bending release ’Sakakeen’ alongside Palestinian producer Al Nather, the single marks the second installment in Noel’s ongoing foray into more experimental sub-genres.
Constructed around an intricate Gulf rhythm, ‘Ghamra’ - co-produced by Abdellah Messous - is driven forward by crisp claps and a balance of electronic and acoustic percussive elements. Delicate pads lay down an atmospheric canvas, while an ever-changing palette of wind instruments and sharp synth accents weave through the groove, giving the instrumental a dynamic, tactile depth.
Against this detailed production, Noel's direct and intimate vocal delivery takes center stage, carrying a catchy, emotionally resonant melody centered on longing and devotion. While the surrounding soundscape remains spacious, the track’s energy surges during the chorus, where a soaring, high-energy synth motif transforms the arrangement into an infectious hook.
