HoneyLuv On Finding A Musical Kinship with Egyptian Audiences
Berlin-based DJ and producer HoneyLu opens up about why she keeps returning to Egypt, and how the country’s crowds out-vibe the States.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Berlin-based DJ and producer, HoneyLuv, moves through the global electronic circuit with ease, steering massive dancefloors across the US and Europe with an infectious energy that mirrors her own personality. Her sets are as jovial, fun and charismatic as she is, offering a soulful spin on house music where old-school soul textures are embellished with vocal chops, while classic kick drums stomp over swerving, insatiable basslines, making even the most discerning listeners dance their feet off.
She has already taken that signature sound to some of the biggest festivals and clubs in the world, including Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, ADE, Hï Ibiza, The Warehouse Project in Manchester, and Drumsheds in London.
Ahead of her debut at Sandbox Festival 2026, we caught up with HoneyLuv in El Gouna. The artist opened up about what makes the festival feel so special to her, why she keeps returning to Egypt, and how the country's crowds out-vibe those in the US.
