Haykal, Julmud & Acamol Score a Fractured Palestine on 'Kam Min Janneh

Palestinian rappers and lyricists, Haykal and Julmud, have joined forces with New York-based Cypriot-Palestinian producer, Acamol (the musical alias of filmmaker and visual artist Basel Abbas) on a new single, ‘Kam Min Jannah’.

Mastered by Heba Kadry, the track reimagines samples of traditional Levant music through a deconstructed electronic lens, where broken beats and chopped bass lines score the sound of a nation coming undone. Haykal and Julmud deliver sharp, politically charged verses that swing between mourning a colonised land and a biting, satirical outrage at the paralysis surrounding the ongoing genocide by the Israeli Armed Forces.

Acamol’s production layers textured melodies and disjointed rhythms that pulse in uneasy harmony with the rappers’ flows, resulting in an avant-garde soundscape that feels both chaotic and hauntingly deliberate. One could almost see it as an auditory reflection of Palestine’s disfigured present.

‘Kam Min Janneh’ is part of a 16-track album of the same name, fully produced by Acamol and mastered by the legendary Heba Kadry. The album is set to release on October 22nd.

في تعاون فلسطيني عابر للحدود، جمع هيكل وجلمود الرابرز والكتّاب المعروفين بأسلوبهم السياسي الحاد مع المنتج القبرصي الفلسطيني المقيم في نيويورك أكامول، الاسم الفني للمخرج والفنان البصري باسل عباس، في أغنية جديدة بعنوان “كم من جنة”.

الأغنية التي تولّت هبة قدري عملية الماسترينج الخاصة بها، تعيد تقديم عناصر من الموسيقى الشامية التقليدية، لكن من خلال منظور إلكتروني مفكك، فيها الإيقاعات المكسّرة وأصوات الباص المقطّعة بتتحوّل لصوت وطن بيتفكك قدام العالَم.

كلمات هيكل وجلمود بتيجي حادة ومحمّلة بالغضب، بتتنقل بين الحزن على أرض محتلة والسخرية السوداء من الصمت تجاه الإبادة اللي بيقوم بيها الاحتلال.

إنتاج أكامول بيضيف عمق بصري وصوتي في آن واحد، بطبقات مليانة توتر متعمّد، وبتخلق مشهد موسيقي تجريبي يبدو chaotic لكنه محسوب بدقة، انعكاس صادق للواقع الفلسطيني.

“كم من جنة” هي الأغنية الرئيسية من ألبوم يحمل الاسم نفسه، مكوَّن من 16 تراك بالكامل من إنتاج أكامول وماسترينج هبة قدري، ومن المقرر إصداره في 22 أكتوبر.
