Amaka Jaji drops Dreamy R&B Cut ‘Masafat’ ft. Marianne Layousse
The Cairo-based Lybian artist expands his sound with a breezy, nostalgic R&B single built for late-night drives.
Representing a rising pillar in the region's music scene, Cairo-based Libyan artist Amaka Jaji's music has often sounded desert-inspired, spacious, and meditative. While that signature still holds in his latest single 'Masafat', featuring Marianne Layousse, the artist veers into a more radio-ready sound, channeling 2000s R&B on this effortlessly cruise-worthy track.
Released through RAAD Records and Produced by BL Made It, the track carries Jaji's atmospheric sensibilities with a polished, contemporary edge. The foundation is built on a guitar-forward arrangement and punchy R&B drums that breathe along to the dreamy vocals, whose serpentine melodies (sung by Jaji and Layousse an octave apart) create the signature spacious feeling Jaji is known for.
Overall, the track is a perfect soundtrack for a late-night drive, embracing nostalgia while still allowing Jaji to expand his sonic footprint.
