Ziyad Almaayouf Returns to Jeddah for First Home Fight in a Year

Saudi pro boxer Ziyad Almaayouf will return to the ring in Jeddah on July 25th, competing on the undercard of an event headlined by former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua after spending the past year fighting on international cards.

The 25-year-old super lightweight became the first Saudi boxer to compete at Madison Square Garden earlier this year and will make his first appearance before a home crowd since that bout.

"This is a very special moment in my career," Almaayouf said. "The past year has helped me grow tremendously as a professional boxer, and I'm excited to bring everything I've learned back to the ring in Jeddah. To compete at home, in front of Saudi audiences, on an event of this magnitude means a great deal to me."

Widely billed as Saudi Arabia's first international professional boxer, Almaayouf has competed on major cards in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. His return to Jeddah comes as he continues to build his professional record, with the long-term goal of becoming Saudi Arabia's first world boxing champion.
