UAE Space Economy Grows 27.1% to USD 1.5 Billion
Commercial-sector expenditure reached USD 719 million in 2024, while employment also increased across Emirati, female and younger workers.
The UAE’s space economy grew 27.1% to USD 1.5 billion in 2024, according to the latest Space Economic Survey conducted by the UAE Space Agency with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.
Commercial-sector expenditure reached USD 719 million, accounting for 48% of total spending. The survey also recorded workforce growth, with 1,495 Emiratis employed in the sector, up 27.9% from the previous survey, while the number of employees aged 15 to 35 rose 29.5% to 1,333.
Women accounted for 33.5% of the workforce following an 83.9% increase in female employment. Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency, said the sector’s economic value added was growing at more than twice the rate of spending, supported by commercial activity, government investment and an expanding talent base.
The survey supports the National Space Strategy 2031, which aims to place the UAE among the world’s 10 largest space economies, increase economic value added by 60% and double sector revenues. A new survey assessing 2025 activity has also been launched, with results expected in October 2027.
