UAE Ranks in Global Top 10 in 2026 Chandler Good Government Index
The index placed the UAE first globally in government innovation and strategic priority-setting, and first regionally overall.
The United Arab Emirates ranked among the world’s top 10 governments in the 2026 edition of the Chandler Good Government Index, which evaluates government effectiveness across 133 countries.
According to the index, the UAE also placed first across the Arab world and the wider region in overall governance performance.
The report ranked the UAE first globally in government innovation, strategic priority-setting capability, flexibility in implementing plans and strategies, and budget surplus indicators.
These rankings reflect comparative assessments tied to policy design, implementation efficiency, institutional agility, and fiscal performance. The UAE also placed second worldwide in indicators measuring government services satisfaction, adaptability, and employment outcomes, which evaluate service quality, responsiveness to change, and labour market performance.
In addition, the country ranked third globally in long-term vision and institutional coordination indicators, which assess strategic planning capacity and alignment across government entities.
