Truck Traffic to Be Diverted Away From Al Dhaid City Centre
Heavy vehicles in Sharjah will be rerouted around Al Dhaid as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and safety.
Truck traffic will be diverted away from Al Dhaid city centre through an alternative route aimed at easing congestion, improving road safety and reducing the impact of heavy vehicles on residents. The changes are expected to improve traffic flow and quality of life by removing trucks from busy urban areas.
Plans also call for all government departments in Al Dhaid to be relocated to new facilities along the road linking Al Dhaid University Square and Al Dhaid Square. The buildings will be purpose-built and designed to support more efficient public services while contributing to the city's long-term urban development.
A new Al Dhaid Municipality headquarters will also be constructed along the same road. The building is intended to serve as an architectural landmark reflecting the city's identity and future growth plans.
The measures build on truck movement restrictions introduced earlier this year by the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority and Sharjah Police. Those regulations limited heavy vehicle traffic on several roads, including Al Dhaid Road, during peak hours as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and maintain road safety across the emirate.
