Scheduled School Ride Option Introduced Across Dubai App Platforms

Dubai Taxi Company, a government-backed transport provider, and Bolt, a global ride-hailing platform operating across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, have introduced a pre-booked ride option for school drop-offs and pick-ups in Dubai through the Bolt app.
The service allows parents to schedule rides in advance based on school timings, offering a structured option for daily commutes. At launch, the feature covers more than 90% of school areas across Dubai, with plans to expand coverage over time. A 20% discount is currently being applied to scheduled rides within selected school zones.
According to the companies, rides are carried out by top-rated drivers within the platform’s comfort category. A Safety PIN feature is also integrated into the process, allowing users to verify the correct vehicle before the journey begins.
The introduction of scheduled school rides builds on existing features across ride-hailing platforms, where pre-booking has been used to support routine journeys. Some services have also trialled shared transport options for students as a way to manage costs.
In parallel, transport authorities in Dubai have previously enabled parents to pre-book taxis for school runs on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, particularly in areas without school bus coverage. The new option adds another layer to these services by consolidating scheduling and ride management within a single app-based platform.
