Saudi Arabia Seizes 1.3 Million Noncompliant Products in Q3 2026

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce seized more than 1.3 million noncompliant products during the third quarter of 2026, while carrying out over 144,000 inspection visits across markets.

According to the ministry’s Q3 Consumer Protection Bulletin, 1,399,251 products violating the Commercial Data Law and Anti-Commercial Fraud Law were confiscated during 11,141 inspection visits conducted as part of joint security campaigns. Violating establishments were referred to the Public Prosecution, while overall compliance among businesses reached 92%.

The ministry also processed 210,901 consumer complaints during the quarter, with an average handling time of 1.5 days. E-commerce stores accounted for 101,657 complaints, followed by 31,402 cases involving exchange and refund policies and 24,496 contractual disputes.

In the automotive sector, 30 recall campaigns covered 191,920 vehicles and 40 products. The ministry also fined a vehicle dealership more than SAR 8 million after identifying 175 after-sales service violations. The dealership was barred from importing vehicles and ordered to compensate affected consumers, with steps initiated to transfer the brand to another authorised dealer.

A further 12,292 inspections targeted commercial concealment, resulting in 475 preliminary suspicions and 58 market regulation violations. Related fines totalled SAR 2.14 million.

The ministry also introduced an AI-powered assistant through its Commercial Report application to help classify consumer complaints. The tool was used in 82,294 cases during the quarter and achieved a 70% correct-classification rate.
