RTA Expands Bus on Demand to Al Quoz With Free Rides
The RTA is offering two weeks of free unlimited rides as its app-based Bus on Demand service expands to Al Quoz.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has expanded its Bus on Demand service to Al Quoz, offering passengers two weeks of unlimited free rides from July 20th before standard fares come into effect.
The app-based public transport service allows passengers to request shared minibuses without fixed bus stops. Users enter their pick-up and destination through the Bus on Demand app and are matched with a nearby vehicle, with each bus accommodating up to 13 passengers.
Following the promotional period, fares will range between AED 5 and AED 7, depending on the journey. Trips within a single zone will cost AED 5, while interzone journeys will be priced at AED 7. Additional passengers on the same booking will be charged AED 4 each, while journeys within Business Bay will remain priced at AED 2.
The service operates from 5am to midnight from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, 5am to 1am on Friday, and 8am to midnight on Sunday.
The expansion adds to a network already serving neighbourhoods including Al Barsha, Al Karama, Al Mankhool, Al Nahda, Al Qusais, Al Rigga, Al Warqa'a, Barsha Heights, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Academic City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Jumeirah Village Circle, Oud Metha and Port Saeed. The RTA said the service will next expand to Al Satwa and Mirdif.
