Princess Sora Launches ‘Riyadh’ Book Exploring the Capital’s Heritage
The illustrated book explores Riyadh’s landmarks, traditions and cultural history, and begins a wider series on Saudi regions.
Princess Sora bint Saud Al Saud has launched ‘Riyadh’, an illustrated book exploring the history, landmarks and cultural traditions of the Saudi capital.
Unveiled at Zallal Square in Diriyah, the book is the first title in the Sora Collection, a planned series introducing different Saudi regions through their heritage, landscapes, traditions and local stories.
‘Riyadh’ combines illustrations with storytelling, moving between historic sites such as Diriyah and Al-Masmak Fortress and modern landmarks including Kingdom Center and Al-Faisaliah Tower.
The book also looks beyond architecture, covering folk arts, traditional food, hospitality and other aspects of everyday cultural life in the capital.
The launch event, held under the slogan ‘Every journey has a beginning, and ours begins in Riyadh’, also included visual installations and interactive cultural and artistic activities inspired by the book.
