Jeddah Islamic Port Extends Storage Fee Exemptions for 60 Days

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has introduced a 60-day package of storage fee exemptions at Jeddah Islamic Port, as part of efforts to improve supply chain efficiency and enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports.

Under the initiative, transit containers will receive a 15-day storage fee exemption, while general transit cargo and roll-on/roll-off cargo and vehicles will each benefit from a five-day exemption. The measures apply to transit shipments and are intended to give shippers and carriers greater flexibility in managing shipping, storage and re-export operations.

The package is designed to streamline logistics services while reinforcing the Kingdom's position on global trade routes.

Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest port on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast and serves as a key regional gateway connecting trade between East and West, handling millions of tonnes of cargo and containers each year.

The incentives form part of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub linking Asia, Europe and Africa through expanded infrastructure and enhanced transport and logistics services.
