Grand Mosque Authority Launches Live Crowd Tracking for Pilgrims

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has launched a real-time crowd-tracking service that allows worshippers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah to monitor congestion levels before performing Tawaf and Sai.
Accessible via a QR code, the platform provides continuously updated information on crowd density in the Mataf, where pilgrims perform Tawaf around the Kaaba, and the Masaa, the area used for Sai between Safa and Marwah. The service is designed to help visitors choose less congested routes and move more smoothly through the mosque.
According to the authority, the platform combines live crowd density indicators with instant updates and smart guidance to support crowd management while improving the experience of pilgrims performing their rituals.
By giving worshippers access to real-time information before entering key areas of the Grand Mosque, the service aims to make Tawaf and Sai easier to complete while contributing to more efficient movement throughout one of Islam's holiest sites.
