Four Injured After Intercepted Missiles Scatter Debris Over Riyadh

Four people were injured in Riyadh after debris from two intercepted Houthi cruise missiles fell around 15 residential homes, according to Saudi Civil Defense. Images released by the authority showed damage to civilian properties following the interceptions.

Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, said a ballistic missile targeting Riyadh was also intercepted and destroyed on Wednesday, while a cruise missile was brought down in Al Kharj Governorate earlier the same day. Residents reported loud explosions over the capital as air defences engaged hostile targets.

Authorities later lifted danger warnings that had been issued for Riyadh and Al Kharj Governorate through the National Early Warning Platform. Elsewhere in the Kingdom, air defences also intercepted missiles targeting Dhahran and Haradh, while three drones were destroyed north of Riyadh.

The Ministry of Energy said a Saudi Aramco administration building in Dhahran was targeted without causing injuries. Saudi authorities have attributed the latest attacks to Yemen’s Houthi movement.
