Etihad Passengers to Get Complimentary Medical Insurance in Abu Dhabi
Eligible international travellers will receive up to 15 days of coverage from July.
Eligible international travellers arriving in Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways will receive complimentary medical travel insurance under a new initiative running from July to December 2026.
The programme, introduced in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, automatically includes short-term medical coverage with qualifying Etihad-operated tickets, eliminating the need for a separate application.
Underwritten and administered by The National Insurance Company – Daman, part of PureHealth, the policy provides coverage for up to 15 days within the UAE.
Eligibility applies to passengers flying on Etihad-operated services to Abu Dhabi, provided both the point of origin and the point of sale are outside the UAE. Travellers using Etihad's complimentary Stopover Programme will also be covered for the duration of their stay.
According to the participating entities, the arrangement is intended to simplify access to healthcare coverage by integrating it directly into the booking process, creating a more streamlined experience from ticket purchase through arrival.
