EgyptAir Companies Records Highest Annual Profit In 93 Years

Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a statement clarifying remarks made during a recent parliamentary session regarding EgyptAir’s financial performance.

According to the ministry, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El Hefny stated that EgyptAir recorded its highest annual profits since the company’s establishment during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, whether in local or foreign currency.

The ministry added that some circulated reports did not accurately reflect the minister’s comments.  No specific profit figures or percentages were disclosed in the statement.

The statement also attributed the results to ongoing development plans focused on improving operational efficiency and resource management.

It also highlighted state efforts to modernise the civil aviation sector, including airport upgrades, fleet modernisation, and improved passenger services aimed at strengthening Egypt’s regional and international competitiveness.

El Hefny also noted that the global aviation industry operates on narrow profit margins ranging between 2% and 4% due to high operational and fuel costs.

He added that rising global fuel prices linked to the Iran-US war during March and April increased costs by nearly USD 53 million. For more news from across Egypt and beyond head to scenenow.com or download the SceneNow app - link in bio.
