Egypt's Annual Table Egg Output Reaches 16.5 Billion
Current output provides full domestic self-sufficiency while creating a surplus available for export.
Egypt's annual table egg production has reached approximately 16.5 billion eggs, with daily output now standing at around 44 million eggs, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
The figures, highlighted through the Egyptian Cabinet's official channels, indicate that current production is sufficient to meet 100% of domestic demand while generating a surplus available for export.
According to the ministry, annual production has increased significantly from 9.3 billion eggs in 2014 to around 16.5 billion today, reflecting growth in the country's poultry sector.
The ministry said the increase forms part of wider efforts to strengthen food security by expanding production capacity, meeting local market demand and supporting agricultural exports.
