The Ministry of Health and Population has entered the Guinness World Records after registering more than 15,000 voluntary blood donors during a single 12-hour period.
Organised by the ministry's Central Administration for , the nationwide campaign coincided with World Blood Donor Day and brought together participants across multiple locations throughout the country. The achievement was officially verified by Guinness World Records representatives.
According to ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the record reflects ongoing efforts to encourage voluntary, unpaid blood donation and strengthen public participation in national health initiatives.
The campaign also contributed to increasing the country's strategic blood and plasma reserves, which support emergency care, surgical procedures and cancer treatment.
The ministry attributed the campaign's success to coordination between regional health directorates, blood banks and medical teams across all governorates.
