Dubai’s Museum of Illusions Closes After Eight Years at Al Seef

Dubai’s Museum of Illusions has permanently closed its location at Souk Al Seef in Bur Dubai after nearly eight years of operation.

The museum opened on September 12th, 2018 beside Dubai Creek and formed part of the international Museum of Illusions franchise, which was founded in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2015.

The Dubai venue housed more than 60 visual and educational exhibits built around optical illusions and perception. Its attractions included holograms, stereograms, perspective-based installations and immersive rooms designed to alter visitors’ sense of scale, balance and space.

Among the museum’s main draws were walk-through installations and interactive exhibits that encouraged visitors to photograph themselves inside visual illusions, combining entertainment with demonstrations of how the brain interprets depth, movement and perspective.

The Al Seef branch was one of several Museum of Illusions locations operating internationally, with the concept expanding from its original Zagreb site into cities across Europe, North America, the Middle East and other regions.
