Dr Wael Ali Becomes First Egyptian to Receive FIP Fellowship
The pharmacist was among 13 fellows recognised at the 2026 World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Montreal.
Dr Wael Ali has become the first Egyptian pharmacist to receive a fellowship from the International Pharmaceutical Federation, joining 12 other pharmacists recognised globally for 2026.
The fellows were named during the 84th World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Montreal, Canada.
The fellowship recognises contributions to the development of the pharmacy profession, professional leadership, pharmacy practice and support for health care internationally.
The International Pharmaceutical Federation represents more than 5.5 million pharmacists, academics and pharmaceutical scientists across 157 countries and territories.
Ali currently heads the federation’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean and chairs its Eastern Mediterranean regional pharmaceutical forum.
He also serves as head of the Egyptian Foundation for Pharmacy and Development and Training, a member of the governing body of the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations, and a member of the executive committee of the federation’s Community Pharmacy Section.
