Digital Foster Family Application System Introduced in Egypt
The new platform lets citizens apply for foster care electronically and track applications through verification and final approval.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has launched the first phase of a digital system that allows citizens to apply for alternative foster care electronically and track applications through verification and final approval.
Developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the system is available through the social care services platform on the ministry’s portal and marks the first fully digitised fostering process of its kind in Egypt.
The platform covers applications and procedures for both alternative foster families and care institutions, with the citizen journey redesigned into a series of connected digital services.
According to the ministry, applications can now move through vetting and data verification electronically, with the system linked to relevant government databases to improve accuracy and reduce reliance on paper documents.
