Arab Hope Makers Opens Nominations With AED 1 Million Prize
Individuals, volunteer groups and nonprofits can now apply or be nominated for the seventh edition of the Arab Hope Makers initiative.
Nominations have opened for the seventh edition of Arab Hope Makers, inviting individuals, volunteer groups and nonprofit organisations from across the Arab world and internationally to submit community-focused humanitarian initiatives.
Operated under Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the programme recognises voluntary and nonprofit projects, campaigns and creative initiatives working across areas including education, healthcare and social, economic and cultural development. The overall winner will receive AED 1 million.
Arab Hope Makers was launched in 2017, when an open call for a “Hope Maker” attracted more than 65,000 submissions. Across six editions, the initiative has received more than 335,000 entries, including over 15,800 in its sixth edition.
In 2025, Moroccan humanitarian worker Fouzia Jbara Mahmoudi was named Arab Hope Maker for her work with Operation Smile, which has provided more than 19,000 surgeries for children born with cleft lips and palates. Finalists Hend Alhajri from Kuwait and Abderrahmane Rais from Morocco also received AED 1 million each.
Applications for the 2026 edition are now open through the initiative’s official website.
