Air Taxi Egypt Adds Six Aircraft for Cairo & North Coast Flights
The expansion means more helicopter capacity between Cairo and the North Coast during peak summer season.
That Cairo-to-Sahel drive won't be the only way to reach the North Coast this summer. Air Taxi Egypt is expanding its operations with six aircraft serving Cairo and the North Coast, increasing capacity for travellers looking to bypass road congestion during the peak summer season. The expansion is also expected to support faster links between Cairo and destinations including Alamein, El Gouna, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh.
Launched in October 2025, the service offers private and semi-private helicopter travel for business and leisure passengers. The project was introduced with announced investments of around EGP 5 billion through a partnership involving Abu Dhabi Aviation, TCM Economic Consulting and the Egyptian Air Force.
The initial service operated four Leonardo AW139 helicopters, with eight- and 12-seat options available in standard and VIP configurations. Flights were based at Almaza Airport and covered destinations including the New Capital, Sheikh Zayed, the North Coast, Siwa, El Gouna, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan.
The company offers Comfort Class for families and luxury leisure travellers, alongside VIP Class for executives, delegations and passengers requiring greater privacy or security.
Air Taxi Egypt also operates sightseeing flights over Greater Cairo. Its ‘Soaring Above History’ route includes aerial views of the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, Saqqara, Dahshour and the Grand Egyptian Museum, while a separate City Tour focuses on modern Cairo.
Passenger documents are processed in advance, while coordinated ground transport allows travellers to move directly from their vehicles to the aircraft. Bookings are currently handled through telephone lines and social media, with plans for a dedicated app and a “by-the-seat” model that would allow passengers to book individual seats rather than chartering an entire helicopter.
