24-Hour Addiction Recovery Helpline Launched in the UAE

The National Drug Enforcement Authority has launched Hisn, a 24-hour helpline offering confidential treatment, rehabilitation and support for people seeking help with drug addiction across the UAE.

The service connects individuals and their families with psychiatrists, addiction specialists and behavioural counsellors, providing immediate consultations followed by clinical assessments to develop personalised treatment and rehabilitation plans.

According to the authority, the programme addresses both the biological and psychological causes of addiction while managing withdrawal symptoms. Treatment is delivered in partnership with medical centres across the UAE and includes psychological and behavioural rehabilitation, life-skills development and mental resilience training, with the aim of helping individuals reintegrate into their families and communities.

Hisn also offers guidance for families, helping parents recognise early behavioural and psychological signs of addiction in children and providing information on identifying and avoiding online drug distribution networks that target teenagers.

The authority said the service is underpinned by four legal guarantees: complete confidentiality of all personal data and call records, absolute privacy in handling support requests, access to internationally recognised clinical treatment through accredited medical facilities, and exemption from criminal liability for individuals who voluntarily seek treatment or are referred by family members through the service.
