2026/2027 UAE School Calendar Sets 185 Teaching Days
Teachers return on August 24th, with students beginning the new academic year on August 31st.
The Ministry of Education has approved the 2026/2027 academic calendar for schools following the UAE national curriculum, setting the school year at 185 teaching days across 37 weeks.
The calendar applies to government schools and private schools implementing the national curriculum. Teachers will return on August 24th, 2026, while students will begin classes on August 31st. The academic year will be divided into three terms: 13 weeks in the first term and 12 weeks each in the second and third terms.
Winter break for students will begin on December 14th, while teachers and administrative staff will start their holiday on December 21st after completing academic and administrative responsibilities.
Spring break for both students and school staff will begin on April 5th, 2027. Students will complete the academic year on July 2nd, while teachers and administrative staff will remain on duty until July 16th to finalise examination results, complete end-of-year administrative work and prepare for the following school year.
