17 Kilometres of Road Rehabilitation Completed Across Dubai

Asphalt maintenance and rehabilitation works covering 17 kilometres have been completed across nine major roads and six districts by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) as part of its annual preventive maintenance programme.

Completed in early June 2026, the works covered highways, arterial roads, freeways and internal road networks, in addition to sections of cycling infrastructure. According to the authority, the programme is intended to maintain and upgrade the network in line with international standards while improving road safety and traffic movement.

The authority followed a proactive approach to monitoring road conditions through annual inspection programmes that incorporate laser technologies and artificial intelligence.

Comprehensive surveys were carried out across the network to identify cracks, potholes and surface deterioration, allowing maintenance teams to address issues before they affect road performance or user safety.

The rehabilitation programme included sections of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Khawaneej Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road, Baghdad Road, Manama Road, Algeria Road, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, Riyadh Street, Amman Street, Al Wuheida Street and Zabeel Palace Street.

Maintenance works were also undertaken in Mirdif, Zabeel First, Margham, Jebel Ali Industrial 2, Al Thanyah Fifth and Al Garhoud.
