Spartan Race Goes Indoors for the First Time at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Are
Spartan Middle East is set to host its first-ever indoor event at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on September 20th, bringing its signature obstacle race format to a new, climate-controlled environment.

For the first time in the region, Spartan Middle East is moving its obstacle course indoors. The international fitness brand will stage its race at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, offering a mix of indoor and outdoor challenges in a weather-proof setting.
Designed for both adults and children, the event will feature three courses tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Adults will take on a 3-kilometre track packed with 15 signature Spartan obstacles, testing strength, endurance, and agility across a condensed but intense format.
Kids will have their own age-specific challenges: a 1 KM course for ages 4–6, a 1.5 KM course for ages 7–9, and a full 3 KM course for those aged 9–14. All participants will receive a Spartan t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and post-race refreshments at the finish line.
The Abu Dhabi event follows a strong season for Spartan in the UAE, with previous races drawing thousands to locations such as Bab Al Shams and Dubai Parks and Resorts. Earlier this year, the brand’s Trifecta weekend in Dubai attracted over 6,000 participants, while its ‘Dawn ’til Dusk’ challenge introduced new endurance formats to the local scene.
