A Rocket-Shaped Skyscraper is Now Morocco's Tallest Building
The 250-metre-tall Mohammed VI Tower has officially opened in Salé.
Fifty-five storeys tall and shaped like a rocket, Morocco's Mohammed VI Tower has officially opened in the city of Salé to become the country's tallest building. Designed by architecture studios Rafael de La‑Hoz and Hakim Benjelloun, the Mohammed VI Tower has been under construction since 2017, and reaches a total height of 250 metres.
Housing luxury hotel Waldorf Astoria, corporate offices, high-end apartments and an observatory, the tower is situated along the Bou Regreg river between the Moroccan capital Rabat and the historic city of Salé. Situated beside it is also the Royal Theatre of Rabat (Grand Theatre de Rabat), designed by the late Zaha Hadid, which recently opened to the public on April 22th, 2026.
