Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy is set to star in the Chinese docudrama ‘The Story I Found In China’, produced by China Global Television Network.
The film will be shot across several cities, including Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shenzhen, following a series of interconnected stories narrated and performed by Fahmy.
The production forms part of broader cultural exchange efforts linked to the second Arab Chinese summit and coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China.
According to the producers, the project adopts a docudrama format that combines factual storytelling with dramatic performance.
Fahmy has begun a 17-day filming journey across China, during which he will meet individuals from different backgrounds and observe aspects of daily life and social change. Producer Ou Xiao Lan said Fahmy’s long-standing career and broad audience reach contributed to his selection for the role.
Fahmy said he will portray an elderly traveller shaped by desert life, describing the role as part of a project that brings together cultures with long-standing civilisational histories.
The film is directed by Xiu Wei and produced by Liu Jianjun, with the journey expected to be documented and broadcast across the network’s plat forms.
