Lamar Just Dropped the Coconut Water Your Roster Was Waiting For
Cairo's blender-only coconut water now comes bottled. Lamar Aqua Coconut Water is made purely from real coconuts, with no added sugar, just the potassium your body has been craving.
Lamar has launched Aqua, a coconut water made from real coconuts, with no added sugar - a fairly radical proposition in a category that has spent years hovering between “fine, I guess” and “suspiciously sweet, what exactly did they add to this?”
This is good news for the one in five people who treat hydration as a personality trait and arrive at brunch carrying a water bottle large enough to require its own place setting. Don’t check that statistic; we invented it to sound official. The type, however, is real, and you know at least three of them by name.
Their loyalty is divided among an entire harem of hydration: lemon-and-cucumber water in the morning, electrolytes before a workout, coconut water by the sea and a plain bottle for the administrative hours in between. Coconut water has traditionally been the difficult one - rarely encountered outside a Cairo blender and often priced beyond what even El Gouna’s Marina can justify.
Aqua is Lamar’s attempt to make it less complicated. Its potassium occurs naturally in the coconut, rather than being added afterwards, and the absence of added sugar means hydration without the subsequent energy crash. It is a small distinction, but an important one by the fourth beach day, somewhere between the sunscreen reapplication and the second backgammon loss.
Lamar Aqua Coconut Water is rolling out now.
