Zayed Sustainability Prize Opens Submissions for 2027
The Zayed Sustainability Prize is accepting entries for 2027, with USD 7.2 million allocated to global sustainability solutions.
The Zayed Sustainability Prize has opened submissions for its 2027 cycle, inviting small and medium enterprises, nonprofit organisations and high schools to apply with sustainability-focused solutions across six categories: Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action and Global High Schools.
Now in its 18th year, the Prize has allocated USD 7.2 million for the upcoming cycle. According to organisers, initiatives supported by the programme over the past two decades have reached more than 400 million people worldwide, addressing challenges such as access to renewable energy, healthcare, food security, clean water and climate resilience.
Winners in each of the five organisational categories will receive USD 1 million, while winners in the Global High Schools category will be awarded USD 150,000 to develop or expand student-led projects within their communities. All finalists will also receive financial support, including USD 100,000 for organisations in the five main categories and USD 25,000 for shortlisted high schools.
Submissions are accepted in seven languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Applications will be reviewed through a multi-stage process assessing impact, innovation and inspiration, before being evaluated by specialist selection committees and a final jury.
Applications are open until June 15th, with winners set to be announced at the Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony in January 2027.
