Mobile Museum Exhibition Opens in Buraidah to Showcase Saudi Heritage

The Museums Commission has launched 'Our Saudi Story: A Window into Museums', a mobile exhibition designed to showcase Saudi Arabia’s regional heritage using digital tools. Opening in Buraidah during the Dates Carnival, the exhibition runs until September 13th and features interactive sensory experiences.

The exhibition presents 11 artefacts digitally reimagined with motion design and sound effects, encouraging visitors to engage directly with the country’s heritage. The title reflects the identity of a network of 11 regional museums that the commission plans to open in phases, each designed to tell a different part of the national story.

This exhibition marks the first stage of the commission’s broader plan to make museum collections more accessible. By using a mobile format and digital tools, the project seeks to bring regional artefacts to wider audiences and highlight how local histories contribute to a shared Saudi identity.
