The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology has opened submissions for an architectural competition to redesign its headquarters at 101 Kasr Al Ainy Street in Downtown Cairo, offering EGP 2 million for the best integrated design. The competition runs from November 20th, 2025 to January 20th, 2026.
The competition brief sets out three goals: preserve the historical and urban character of the district, reflect the Academy’s institutional and national identity, and integrate sustainability, innovation and artificial intelligence within the architectural concept. The required scope covers the main facade, external surroundings, reception area, the Academy Museum, and a conference centre above Al Salam Theatre, in addition to both special and typical floors. Designs should ensure easy circulation while incorporating smart technologies and interactive spaces.
Eligibility is open to young engineers, architects and Egyptian consultancy offices, with a one-proposal limit per entrant. Submissions are to be delivered in both electronic and hard copy formats in line with the specified guidelines.
