Autonomous Vehicle Route Links Riyadh’s Hayat Mall & Riyadh Gallery
A previous phase logged over 1,700 trips, more than 3,000 passengers and over 30,000 km across several routes, with plans to expand autonomous operations in Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh's Transport General Authority launched a new autonomous vehicle passenger route in Riyadh linking Hayat Mall and Riyadh Gallery. The service is intended to move passengers between the two destinations on a defined route and forms part of the authority’s plan to expand autonomous transport operations across several locations in Saudi Arabia. The authority said the initiative supports the adoption of smart solutions in the transport sector.
The launch follows an earlier phase in which several autonomous vehicle routes became operational. During that phase, the vehicles completed over 1,700 trips and transported over 3,000 passengers. They covered a combined distance of more than 30,000 km. The authority linked the new route to broader plans to expand autonomous operations across multiple locations in the Kingdom.
