Jordanian Edtech Abwaab Acquires Egyptian SaaS Platform Eduact

Jordan-based edtech company Abwaab has acquired Egyptian startup Eduact for an undisclosed amount, expanding its platform beyond student-focused digital learning to include technology infrastructure for teachers and learning centres.

Founded in 2020 by Adham Hamed and Ali Hisham, Eduact provides a software-as-a-service platform that enables independent teachers and small learning centres to manage video content, grading, payments and workflows across online and offline education.

Abwaab, meanwhile, was founded in 2019 by Hamdi Tabbaa, Sabri Hakim and Hussein AlSarabi, offering curriculum-aligned online learning, assessments and other education services, and currently operates across six markets in the Middle East and North Africa. Abwaab plans to integrate Eduact’s technology into its wider platform and use its regional reach to expand the product to more teachers and learning centres in Egypt and other markets.

The transaction is Abwaab’s second acquisition in 2026, following its acquisition of Egypt-based Apex Education, which specialises in international university admissions, earlier this year.
