Digital Bank Zand Secures Dual International Security Certifications
Zand has obtained ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, positioning itself as the first bank in the Middle East to meet both standards for Web3 financial services.
Zand, an AI- and blockchain-powered digital bank operating in the United Arab Emirates, has achieved ISO 27001 for information security management and ISO 27701 for privacy information management. The certifications make Zand the first bank in the Middle East to meet these internationally recognised standards for Web3-related banking services.
Both standards are issued by the International Organization for Standardization. ISO 27001 sets requirements for establishing and maintaining an information security management system, while ISO 27701 extends this framework to cover the protection and management of personal data and privacy controls.
Zand said the certifications apply to its digital and Web3 service offerings, including digital asset custody, smart contract management, and infrastructure designed to bridge traditional financial services with decentralised finance systems. The standards are intended to provide assurance around data security, risk management and privacy governance as financial institutions expand into blockchain-based services.
