B Investments Sells 26M Gourmet Shares for USD 8M
Disclosed to the Egyptian Exchange, the sale priced shares at around EGP 16, trims B Investments’ holding to 33.5%, and leaves the buyer undisclosed.
Egyptian private equity firm B Investments Holding has sold 26 million shares in Gourmet Egypt for EGP 416.2 million (around USD 8 million), cutting its stake in the premium grocery retailer from 40% to 33.5%. B Investments first invested in Gourmet in 2018, acquiring a 40% stake for EGP 65 million before increasing its holding to around 53% through a subsequent EGP 60 million capital increase. The investment supported the expansion of Gourmet’s food manufacturing operations and production capacity.
Gourmet Egypt was founded in 2006, initially supplying premium meat and seafood to five-star hotels before opening its first retail store in Maadi in 2008. The company has since grown into an integrated premium food retailer and manufacturer, with 22 branches and two production facilities producing soups, salads, baked goods, and ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat products. Gourmet went public on the EGX in February 2026 in an all-secondary IPO, with B Investments and other shareholders selling 47.6% of the company.
